What is it | This is a working group meeting for the Policy Development Process initiated by the GNSO Council on the topic of Vertical Integration Between Registrars and Registries

Why it's important | The working group is commencing its policy development activities to evaluate whether there should be a uniform policy applicable to both existing gTLDs and New gTLDs addressing vertical integration between registrars and registries.

At Wednesday's meeting, the GNSO Council will vote to approve the proposed charter for the Vertical Integration Working Group, which describes the objectives and timeline for performing the policy development activities related to vertical integration. Upon approval of the charter, the GNSO Council will seek volunteers to participate in this PDP. This initial working group meeting will likely discuss logistics and next steps for commencing the work for this PDP.
